Tanishaa Mukerji is one of the most popular faces in Tinseltown. Daughter of veteran actress, Tanuja and the sister of Kajol, she rose to fame with films like Neal n Nikki, Tango Charlie, Sarkar, Sarkar Raj and others. She also got a lot of fame with her performance in reality shows like Bigg Boss 7, Khatron Ke Khiladi 7 and Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 11. While Tanishaa hails from a true-blue film family that has highly flourished actors, the diva, on the contrary, hasn’t been able to record an equitably successful career herself.
Tanishaa reacts to buzz about actors throwing unnecessary tantrums on the shooting floor
In a recent interaction with The Indian Express, Tanishaa Mukerji opened up about the much-debated topic off lately, wherein several filmmakers have blamed actors and their unnecessary demands and entourage increasing the cost of production itself. In retrospect, while Tanishaa agreed that actors mustn’t pressurise independent filmmakers with their overseeding demands, at the same time, producers too, mustn’t claim that actors have tantrums. Adding how one must respect the time actors contribute on a project, she said:
“You cannot point out that this particular actor has so many vans without considering the amount of time he is spending on your set.”

Tanishaa explains how actors working longer hours on the sets must get their basic necessities fulfilled
Continuing her line of thought, Tanishaa then took the example of actors like Akshay Kumar, who had spent a considerable amount of time on the sets. She then counter questioned how filmmakers must take note if the actor is willing to spend that much of time on the sets. Moreover, Tanishaa added that if an actor ends up spending as long as 18 hours for a film shoot, it is quite obvious that they would require to fulfill some bare necessities, such as provision for a gym and chef, something which many producers wrongly identify as tantrums. She expressed:
“It’s different when an actor like Akshay Kumar says I can only work 9-5, then he goes home and does his gym. Is the actor you are working with is also just doing 9-5? How dare you tell ‘actors ke nakhre’? First point out if he is willing to be on your set for 14 hours? Is he willing to do an 18 hour shift with you? Consider all this and then comment. It is after considering and analysing these things you can talk about their tantrums and call their demands for gyms and chefs in their vanity vans unrealistic. Of course, he will need a chef, how is he going to manage his own food, workout, if he doesn’t have much time off your shoot?”
Tanishaa Mukerji claims every star has a tantrum of their own
Moving forward, Tanishaa Mukerji made a startling observation and remarked how the very identifying mark of a star is their tantrums. She revealed that the bigger a star is, the bigger would be their tantrums. However, if any producer feels being incapable of dealing with it, they must talk it out with the star for adjustments. In her words:
“Every star will have their tantrums, otherwise they won’t be considered stars. Bigger the tantrum, bigger the star. Some people believe this. If you are an independent producer and have a low budget, talk it out with the star, I am sure they will work out. But if you’re a corporate, of course, they will demand things because you do have that kind of money. It’s all about demand and supply.”
