Gurucharan Singh’s disappearance news back in April 2024 became a matter of alarming headlines, when his family members registered a police complaint over the same. The actor switched off his phone and all connected devices, making it impossible for people to track his last location. Soon after, several reports and speculations over what might have happened to the actor surfaced, making it quite a strenuous period of time for Gurucharan’s family. However, it was on May 17, 2024, when he finally returned home and revealed that he had gone out for a religious journey by renouncing everything associated with the materialistic world.
Gurucharan Singh claims he had always been a highly religious person
In an interaction with the Bombay Times, Gurucharan Singh explained why he went missing for about 25 days, away from his family, as he wished to seek solace through a devout religious life. The actor claimed that he has always been spiritual, especially due to his parent’s influence. Moreover, Gurucharan shared that it was during one point in time, he felt low and turned towards God, and embark in a journey from where he didn’t wish to return. In his words:
“I have always been spiritual because of my parents and at this point in life when I was feeling low, I turned towards God. I went on a spiritual journey and had no plans of coming back. But God gave me a sign and that made me return home.”

Gurucharan clarifies that his disappearance wasn’t a publicity stunt
Moving on with his revelation, Gurucharan Singh reacted to people claiming that his disappearance was a publicity stunt. He rubbished it all and revealed that it wasn’t a pre-planned thing for him. Gurucharan shared that even after coming back home, he didn’t initially give away interviews, but now, only spoke up since he wanted to clarify few wrong allegations made about him. He mentioned:
“Many people think I planned my disappearance for publicity, but that’s not true. Even after coming back home, I didn’t give any interviews, but now I am speaking up because I want to clarify certain things that people are saying about me.”
Gurucharan Singh reveals he still has pending dues for his work by TMKOC makers
Speaking along the same lines, Gurucharan Singh emphasised that if his disappearance was pre-planned and a publicity stunt, he would have easily gone on social media about the same. Moreover, he added that if he desired, he would also have given out interviews about how he still has pending dues from the makers of Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Gurucharan added:
“If I wanted publicity, I could have given interviews to talk about the pending dues for my work in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. I could have used social media to do that, but I didn’t.”

When Gurucharan Singh’s father expressed sorrow over his son’s disappearan
Previously, during a byte to the Times of India, Gurucharan Singh’s father, Hargit Singh talked about his sorrow and concern after his son went missing. He added that the entire family has been under immense emotional pressure and turmoil, eagerly waiting for their son to return.
