Stepped-Up Patrols: Ajman Police Prioritize Traffic Safety During Unstable Weather

Motorists in Ajman can expect to see a heightened police presence on the roads as the Ajman Police Department ramps up its efforts to ensure traffic safety during the current period of unpredictable weather conditions.

The initiative, announced recently, comes in response to the potential hazards posed by rain, strong winds, and reduced visibility. The department aims to proactively address these concerns and minimize traffic disruptions caused by the weather.

“Our primary focus is the safety and well-being of all road users,” said Major Fouad Al Khaja, Director of the Traffic and Patrol Department at Ajman Police. “By increasing patrols and police visibility across the emirate, we hope to deter reckless driving behavior and ensure a smooth flow of traffic even during challenging weather conditions.”

The department has deployed additional officers on patrol vehicles and motorbikes to cover a wider range of areas. These patrols will be strategically positioned on major roads, intersections, and areas known to be accident-prone. Officers will be on the lookout for violations such as speeding, tailgating, and failing to maintain a safe distance between vehicles.

The Ajman Police Department is also urging motorists to exercise caution and adapt their driving habits to the weather. They recommend drivers:

  • Reduce speed and maintain a greater distance between vehicles, especially during heavy rain or low visibility.
  • Use headlights even during daytime when visibility is compromised.
  • Avoid sudden lane changes or braking maneuvers.
  • Increase following distances to allow for more reaction time.
  • Refrain from using mobile phones or engaging in any activity that diverts attention while driving.

Major Al Khaja emphasized the importance of staying informed about weather updates. “We encourage drivers to check weather forecasts before embarking on their journeys and to adjust their travel plans if necessary,” he said. “It’s always better to be safe than sorry.”

The Ajman Police Department is confident that these measures will contribute significantly to maintaining a safe and secure traffic flow during the current weather situation. They are committed to working together with the community to ensure a safe and pleasant driving experience for everyone.
