Alia Bhatt’s 2024 Met Gala look
Alia simply stole our breath in the mint green-toned 3D floral Sabyasachi saree featuring a 23-foot-long trail. As per an IG post shared by the saree’s designer, Sabyasachi, Alia’ couture saree was hand-embroidered with silk floss, beads, sequins, and precious stones along with fringed glass beads. Moreover, Alia’s hand-crafted blouse was embellished with emeralds, Basra pearls, tourmalines, and multi-coloured sapphires. The actress opted for a statement matha patti and emerald and sapphire-studded earrings. Taling about her saree, Alia added:
“The sari’s design, with its translucent, glass-like appearance is not just a nod to the ethereal quality of the garden in Ballard’s story but also a tribute to the exquisite, enduring craft of sari-making. What drew me to this look was the sheer audacity of it—how it merges traditional craftsmanship with avant-garde aesthetics. Sabyasachi, known for his dedication to bringing old-world charm and modern sophistication together, seemed like the perfect choice to encapsulate the theme of this year’s Met Gala.”
