The 34-year-old Bengaluru techie, Atul Subhash has committed suicide after he was harassed to the very end by his estranged wife, Nikita Singhania. Atul Subhash’s demise has raised questions about men’s safety yet again. In his 24-page suicide note, Atul shared his side of the story, which left the entire nation bursting out in anger. In his note, Atul tagged his wife, Nikita as the ‘explicit instigation for suicide’.
Atul Subhash’s estranged wife, Nikita Singhania gets arrested along with her family members
Well, Atul Subhash’s wife, Nikita was summoned by the police, and reports were rife that she, along with her family was on the run. However, on December 14, 2024, she and her family members filed anticipatory bail pleas in Allahabad High Court, but a day later, on December 15, they were reported to be arrested. As per a recent report by ANI, Atul Subash’s estranged wife, Nikita Singhania was arrested on December 15, 2024, from Gurugram, Haryana. On the other hand, Nikita’s mom and brother, Nisha Singhania, and Anurag Singhania were arrested from Prayagraj. As per the same report, the trio was presented to the court before they were sent to judicial custody.
On the other hand, Sushil Singhania, who is a relative of Nikita and also is an accused in Atul Subhash’s suicide case, has been being investigated. Talking about her arrest, Circle Officer, Ayush Srivastava stated that Nikita will be presented before the investigating officer at Marathahalli police station for further interrogations regarding her husband’s demise. In Ayush Srivastava’s words:
“Nikita Singhania to appear before the investigating officer at Marathahalli police station, Bengaluru, within three days for interrogation regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of her husband, Atul Subhash.”

Reportedly, an FIR has been lodged against Atul Subhash’s in-laws under sections 108 and 3(5) of the BNS. Earlier, in a video that made rounds on social media, Atul’s mother-in-law, Nisha, and brother-in-law, Anurag were seen riding a bike as they left their Jaunpur residence in the wee hours of the night, fearing the arrest. Not only this, Nikita’s brother, Anurag has been reacting aggressively to the media coverage regarding Atul Subhash’s demise, and reportedly, when the reporters reached their home, they from the balcony started arguing and shouting and demanded them to turn off their cameras.

It was Nikita, who in 2022, filed a complaint against her husband and in-laws about harassing her mentally and physically for dowry, beating her, and more. Nikita, who is well-settled and is an AI engineer consultant of Accenture, demanded Rs. 40,000 monthly for the maintenance and Rs. 3 crore alimony. In a case hearing before Atul’s suicide, when he tried to put the fact that he didn’t have that much money, the district judge even demanded a bribe of Rs. 5 lakh. Well, Atul, finding no solution against the same, committed suicide by leaving behind a 24-page suicide note with a ‘Justice Is Due’ title, a goodbye letter for his son, and a 90-minute video.
