Jennie Garth Speaks Out On What I Like About You Creator Dan Schneider’s Allegations & Co-Star Amanda Bynes

Jennie Garth wants nothing to do with Dan Schneider anymore.

In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter out on Saturday, the actress was asked about all the allegations levied against the Nickelodeon showrunner in the documentary series Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV. She’s one of several actors who was around during this dark era. As you may recall, she worked alongside the controversial writer and Amanda Bynes on the sitcom What I Like About You from 2002 to 2006, which Dan co-created. When questioned about that at a recent event, she told the outlet:

“I don’t want to talk about Dan Schneider ever again in my life.”

Oof. Not a good sign.

Jennie, who played The Amanda Show alum’s sister on the WB series, noted that she hasn’t spoken to her former co-star since the doc aired, but insisted:

“I just love her and I would love to see her at any point.”

As Perezcious readers know, Amanda worked with Dan for several years at the start of her career and was in his orbit at the time of his alleged creepy behavior, but she did not participate in the doc. Sources previously told TMZ that she rejected the opportunity because she wasn’t interested in talking about her child stardom and didn’t feel like she had anything to say that would’ve helped the producers. Her parents, meanwhile, had watched the series and were horrified by the accusations — but reportedly never saw any of it firsthand during their time around those sets.

For his part, the screenwriter (sorta) apologized for some of his actions but has yet to take full responsibility for anything. And the alleged horror stories just keep coming as more former child stars get the courage to speak out. Given the awful claims, it’s not shocking that Jennie is trying to put this man in her past! The good thing is that she still has a ton of love and lots of support for her younger cast member! Thoughts? Let us know (below)…
