Swapna Dutt, the producer of Kalki 2898 AD, responded to her brother-in-law and director Nag Ashwin’s tweet regarding Arshad Warsi’s criticism of Prabhas’ performance in the film. In a recent interview, she praised the filmmaker for handling the situation and criticism with ease.

Swapna spoke with News18 and expressed that she “loved” Nag Ashwin’s reaction to Arshad Warsi’s ‘joker’ comment. She added that neither the filmmaker nor Prabhas needs to prove their talent anymore and praised Prabhas’ performance in Kalki 2898 AD as “fantastic. Swapna said, “I loved the way Nagi reacted to it. We stayed calm because the film proved for itself what it is. Prabhas was fantastic in the film, as he always is.”
She continued, “We’ve to give it to the magnanimity of Nag Ashwin and Prabhas. They’re just so easy on these things. Nagi tweeted recently saying that he will be sending him a toy and work harder for part two. He only wished that he (Arshad) used better language and that makes Nagi who and what he is.”

Earlier, in a post on X, Nag Ashwin stated that Arshad might have used better terms to convey his criticism of the film and Prabhas. He wrote, “Let’s not go backwards..no more north-south or bolly vs tolly..eyes on the bigger picture.. United Indian Film Industry..Arshad saab should have chosen his words better..but it’s ok..sending buji toys 4 his kids..il work hard so tweets fdfs that prabhas was the best ever in k2.”
It all began when Arshad Warsi appeared on a talk show and stated that he did not enjoy Kalki 2898 AD. He said that Amitabh Bachchan was the only positive aspect of the film and criticized the producers for making Prabhas appear like a ‘joker’. Calling out the film’s team for not doing justice to Prabhas’s stardom and acting prowess, Arshad said, “Prabhas, I am really sad, why was he… he was like a joker. Why? I want to see a Mad Max. I want to see Mel Gibson over there. Tumne usko kya bana dia yaar. Kyun karte ho aisa mujhe nahin samajh mein aata.”
The comment was poorly received by Prabhas’ fans, who criticized Arshad Warsi heavily on social media. Many Telugu film actors and producers quickly joined in denouncing the Munna Bhai MBBS star’s statement.
