As the Trooping the Colour approaches next month, we finally have details about what everyone can expect from the annual event this year amid the cancer battles of King Charles and Princess Catherine!
According to People, the 75-year-old monarch WILL attend the celebration on June 15. However, his participation in the event will look different this year due to his health issues! Instead of riding on horseback as Charles has done in the past, he will ride in a horse-drawn carriage with Queen Camilla. Hey, it’s better than nothing!

As for Princess Catherine? Well, she won’t be attending the dress rehearsal for Trooping the Colour! Kensington Palace confirmed the Princess of Wales will not carry out her role of Inspecting Officer at the Colonel’s Review on June 8. Lieutenant General James Bucknall, KCB, CBE, will fill in for Catherine instead. Whether she plans to join the royal family at the event on June 15 in some sort of capacity remains unknown at this point. But if we had to take a guess, based on her planned absence from the rehearsal, probably don’t plan on her coming. Ugh!
Royal expert Richard Eden previously said her friends believe that she won’t return to work until the fall — and that’s only if she’s fully recovered by then. That being said, things are looking up for Catherine! She is reportedly “doing a lot better” amid her cancer treatment. Amazing news! So who knows?! Perhaps she’ll surprise us all and make a brief appearance! Don’t get your hopes up too much just in case, tho. Reactions, Perezcious readers? Let us know in the comment below!
