Alia Bhatt revealed why she opted for a saree at Met Gala 2024
It was indeed a historic moment for Alia Bhatt as she exuded grace in her surreal drape at the Met Gala 2014. During an interaction at the event, Alia talked about her experience and shared that she ensured that the pressure didn’t bog her down. She also revealed that her saree took 1965 man-hours and around 163 artisans to be made. The actress proudly represented India in a desi saree, and she shared:
“It’s not about giving yourself too much pressure and taking it seriously. It’s a massive and big deal but it was also about having fun and light on the inside, so that your face looks lit up and happy. That’s something I was focusing on. When I thought of the dress code ‘Garden of Time’, I felt it needed something timeless and nothing is more timeless than a sari. It has taken a lot of love, labour and a lot of effort and anything that takes a lot of love and time lasts forever, just like the garden of time.”
