S Shankar and Thaman S reveals Ram Charan’s dazzles in stunning dance with 1,000 folk dancers for Game Changer’s Dam Tu Dikhaja
The upcoming film Game Changer is set to feature the song ‘Raa Macha Macha,’ with Ram Charan performing alongside 1,000 folk dancers. This song serves as his entry sequence in the film, and director Shankar focused on this concept after extensive research. The teaser for the Hindi version, Dam Tu Dikhaja, was released yesterday and will be available on September 30.
Choreographed by the legendary Ganesh Acharya, the song serves as the electrifying introductory number befitting his dancing chops and stature. Known for his mesmerizing skills, Charan raises the bar yet again with moves that blend flair with the soul of India’s folk traditions.
This song pays tribute to India’s diverse cultural heritage by showcasing various traditional folk dances from different regions of the country. It features distinct forms such as Gussadi from Adilabad, Chaau from West Bengal, Ghumra from Orissa’s Matilkala, and Goravara Kunitha from Karnataka, among others. The track is performed by Nakash Aziz, who provides vocals for all three language versions Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. The song is written by Anantha Sriram.
Aziz, known for his hits in Simmba and Pushpa, steps in after the iconic Daler Mehndi, making the track a surefire musical hit.
Talking about it, the director said, “One whole sequence, Ram Charan danced in a single shot. It’s turned out beautifully because it blends in elements from so many states and cultures. This song will be a treat for Ram Charan fans.”
Thaman S adds, “This is never seen before. Our idea was to record everything and bring in all the cultures and then make it the most visually expansive song of recent times. The way to get to it was to lock the 1000 dancers and platform them next to Ram Charan.”
