Four years after Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic passing, Rhea Chakraborty, once subjected to public hate and trolling, made a remarkable comeback as a gang leader on Roadies. Host Rannvijay Singha praised her resilience, calling her return to the limelight an inspiring testament to her strength and courage amidst personal and public challenges.

In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Rannvijay revealed how proud he is of Rhea for standing tall despite everything she faced in the past few years. Talking about the intense trolling and hatred that people directed at her after Sushant’s death, Rannvijay shared:
“So many people will relate to this girl (Rhea) who’s been through something that you and I can’t even imagine. People already judged her for something that…Can you imagine she lost somebody she loved and she never got somebody saying, ‘Oh my God, she lost somebody’?”

After Sushant’s unexpected death, his girlfriend, Rhea became the centre of legal and public scrutiny. From being accused of abetment to suicide to spending nearly a month in jail under the NCB’s watch, she faced unparalleled challenges. Despite all these, Rhea bounced back and made her way to the Roadies stage. Talking about the same, Rannvijay lauded Rhea’s resilience in facing challenges head-on, and showing the true characteristics of a gang leader on the show. Rannvijay compared Rhea’s struggles with his own and said:
“I think she has been through more things than I have. That gives her the confidence level now. She knows who she is because she was in the worst kind of situation but she stood that storm. I don’t know if I were in a situation like that, what would I do because I haven’t been in one. Her being on roadies gives a lot of people power.”
When asked about Rhea’s return to work after enduring the hardest phase of her life, Rannvijay expressed his happiness for her decision. According to him, as a Roadies gang leader, Rhea can empower many people going through a tough phase. In Rannvijay’s words:
“I am happy that she got that opportunity with Roadies. I don’t know what she feels about it but from the conversations that I’ve had with her, she feels the same. She’s like, ‘I’m glad that I came back and I did this where I can be myself’… It’s her experience of who she’s become is what she’s got here. Her reactions are because of what she’s been through in life.”
