Sonakshi Sinha rose to fame with her debut in Salman Khan’s film, Dabangg. She did an array of movies and web series and in no time became a fan favourite due to her charming personality and acting skills. She is the daughter of a renowned actor and politician, Shatrughan Sinha, so making a place in Bollywood wasn’t difficult for Sonakshi. The diva in her personal life is happily married to Zaheer Iqbal.
Sonakshi Sinha and her family were recently targeted by Shatiman fame Mukesh Khanna, for no reason. And now the diva gave it back to him in an open letter. For the unversed, Mukhesh Khanna questioned Shatrughan Sinha’s upbringing after Sonakshi Sinha was not able to answer a question about Ramayana in KBC.
Sonakshi Sinha slams Mukesh Khanna for his distasteful dig at Shatrughan Sinha
Sonakshi Sinha has always been a daddy’s girl, and even Shatrughan Sinha has very openly shown his affection for his darling dearest, so, it was no brainer that the diva would come to defend her father. After Mukesh Khanna’s not-so-necessary dig towards the Sinhas, Sonakshi wrote an open letter to him saying:
“Yes, I may have blanked out that day, a human tendency, and forgotten who the sanjeevani booti was brought for, but clearly, you have also forgotten some of the lessons of forgive and forget taught by Lord Ram himself… if Lord Ram can forgive Manthara, if he can forgive Kaikeyi… if he can even forgive Ravan after the great battle was done, surely you can let go of this extremely small thing in comparison.. not that I need your forgiveness. But yes, I definitely need you to forget and stop bringing up the same incident time and again to be back in the news at the expense of me and my family.”
Sonakshi Sinha also warmed Mukesh Khanna not to question. her values and what kind of upbringing Shatrughan Sinha has instilled in her. She added that it is only due to her father’s upbringing that she is being respectful towards him. In Sonakshi Sinha words:
“And lastly, the next time you decide to say anything about the values my father has instilled in me… please remember it’s because of those values that I have only said what I said, very respectfully, after you decided to make some distasteful statements about my upbringing. I wish you well, thanks and regards, Sonakshi Sinha.”
What Mukesh said about Sonakshi Sinha
In a public conversation with Siddharth Kannan on his podcast, Mukesh Khanna made some controversial remarks about Sonakshi Sinha. He indirectly criticised her for not being able to answer a question about ‘Ramayan’, a reference to a bungalow name. He added that it is not her fault but her father’s who gave her the freedom to become so modern that she forgot her roots. When asked if he was referring to Sonakshi, he confirmed his statement, saying:
“Luv Kush is the name of their bungalow. People got angry, ‘She doesn’t know’. I said it’s not Sonakshi’s fault; it’s her father’s fault. Why did you not tell your kids? Why did you let them be so modern?”
