Advocating for Fitness and Breaking Stigmas
Neha Dhupia, a passionate advocate for women’s health, emphasized the personal and collective strength of the participants. She said, “What moved me most today wasn’t just the number of women who showed up, but the stories behind each face—the courage it takes to show up for yourself and for each other. It’s about more than fitness or breaking stigmas; it’s about saying, ‘I see you, I stand with you.’”
Director Anita Lobo highlighted the sense of community fostered by the event. She remarked, “GoFlo Run is about reminding every woman that she’s not alone. Seeing mothers, daughters, friends, and strangers come together with such purpose is a moment I’ll carry in my heart for a long time.”
Sonu Sood shared his admiration for the participants, saying, “When women come together, they create change, and today is proof of that.”
Celebrity Support and Shared Experiences
Actors Saiyami Kher and Siddharth Nigam were present to cheer on the participants. Kher, an avid runner, shared her perspective: “Running isn’t just about physical fitness—it’s so much more. To all the amazing ladies taking part in the GoFlo Run, I fully support you. Let’s do this together!”
Nigam added, “GoFlo Run is not just a physical journey but an emotional one. It’s a privilege to witness this powerful show of unity, resilience, and determination.”
Raising Awareness and Building Solidarity
The event featured a Zumba session to kick off the day, followed by 10km, 5km, and 3km runs. Participants included women of all ages and backgrounds, united by a shared commitment to health and wellness.
Dr. Nozer Sheriar, a prominent gynecologist, highlighted the importance of breaking taboos surrounding menstrual health. He said, “GoFlo Run is an opportunity to rewrite the narrative and bring health and hygiene to the forefront of the conversation.” Fitness expert Brinston Miranda praised the initiative, stating, “Fitness is about mental and emotional resilience too. Today’s turnout shows the hunger for empowerment and change.”
As the event concluded, participants celebrated a renewed sense of community and empowerment. The GoFlo Run set a bold benchmark for women-centric fitness initiatives, combining health, purpose, and solidarity.
