The web-slinger Tom Holland is set to return to the big screen in a fourth installment of the acclaimed Spider-Man franchise. During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the actor who portrays the superhero confirmed that the production for the highly anticipated film is scheduled to commence next summer.

“Next summer, we start shooting. Everything’s good to go — we’re nearly there,” Holland said. “Super exciting. I can’t wait!”
The actor’s previous Spider-Man film, No Way Home, released in 2021, marked a significant milestone as it featured a historic reunion of three generations of the beloved superhero. This unprecedented collaboration, which included the original Spider-Man Tobey Maguire, the predecessor Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland himself, was a closely guarded secret that even the talk show host was unaware of during a prior appearance. “You totally, without a doubt, professionally lied to us all,” Fallon said. “But I will say, it was worth it.”
The actor described the experience of working alongside his predecessors as the “highlight of his career.” “We were in a bubble,” Holland said. “Tobey and Andrew would come to set in like a cloak, it was like something out of ‘Star Wars.’ It was hilarious.”
During Rich Roll podcast last week, he revealed that he had recently read a draft of the upcoming Spider-Man film script with Zendaya. While he acknowledged that the script still requires refinement, he expressed his enthusiasm for the direction it is taking. “I read it three weeks ago and it really lit a fire in me,” Holland said. “Zendaya and I sat down and read it together and we at times were bouncing around the living room, like this is a real movie worthy of the fans’ respect.”
Reports have surfaced suggesting that the filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton behind the film Shang-Chi is in negotiations to direct the fourth installment of the Spider-Man franchise.
